Profile > Curriculum Raquel Castedo is a graphic designer and holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication and a master’s degree in Communication and Information (both at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). She has experience in designing visual identities, printed publications and publicity pieces. Since 2003, when she started working for Atelier Design Editorial, in Porto Alegre, she combines academic life with market demands, seeking in Communication and Design thinkers the bases to, in Ellen Lupton’s words, forge relations between images and texts, cutting and pasting, enlarging and diminishing, comparing and isolating elements. She attended to workshops coordinated by renowned graphic designers, including James Victore, Paul Sahre and Jan Wilker in New York. For the company Letraria, of which she was a manager-partner, she participated in the planning of courses in the areas of Graphic Production, Design and Illustration, both promoting and teaching in them. Nowadays, she works independently, forming teams with other designers, photographers, illustrators, journalists, writers, according to each project demands.
